Hey whats happenin my beautiful music lovers! Here’s another fresh Sunday Diggin selection for you listening pleasure from yours truly.
From todays picks we decided to pick (some) of our top 3 Brazilian records.
Nação Zumbi – Fome de Tudo
This is one of my all time favorite records; for every single aspect possible, musically, lyrically and graphically speaking.
Nação Zumbi is one of the most heavy, original, creative bands to ever come out of Brazil, from when they had the genius Chico Science on their formation until now; Their mixture of regional northeastern brazilian music with rock, psychedelic elements and science fiction are some of the recipes to a strong holly fucking shit kind of sound that make you go “damn what the fuck was that?”, Nação Zumbi my brothers and sisters.
1 – Bossa Nostra
3 – Carnaval
9 – Toda Surdez Sera Castigada
12 – No Olimpo
* The whole album is dynamite, experience it from beginning to end.
San-Ho-Zay is the third album from Blues Etilicos, I believe this is one of the albums that captures the Brazilian way of playing blues the best; a whole lot of feeling, extra heavy bass lines and awesome drums + bass chemistry. Real bohemian grooves.
Besides their own joints, most of the songs are classic blues covers but for sure played on their very own way. Thru every single you can feel the bands energy so good; fine brazilian blues jammin all around
2 – Last Night
6 – Walking The Streets
7 – My Babe She’s Gonna Leave Me
9 – No Way ( lets give a Fuck yea star for this one)
If I had to sugest a list of albums as a introduction on Brazilian music this would be on the list for sure; legendary musicians and joyful and experimental grooves all around.
This one I have is a reissue by Light In The Attic Records, so awesome to see this beautiful algum rolling around the U.S. comes 180 gram record on a gatefold with all the lyrics translated, good shit.
3 – Tira a Mão
5 – Previsão do Tempo
9 – Não Tem Nada Nao II
